Expertly hand-woven in modern designs, the Vintage Egyptian Kilim measures 10'2" x 13'5" and originates in the Fustat region of the Nile delta. Constructed with wool on a cotton foundation, this Kilim & Flat Weave rug features tightly interwoven warp and weft strands to create a flat surface without any pile. Using horizontal looms, this weaving technique results in crisp geometric patterns. Incredibly versatile, kilims were not only used as rugs, but also as sofa covers, drapes, pillows, table covers, wall hangings, tapestries, and insulation against the cold.
